Conferences
April
FCMN
Monterey Marriott in Monterey, Califorinia
The FCMN will bring together scientists and engineers interested in all aspects of the characterization technology needed for nanoelectronic materials and device research, development, integration, and manufacturing. All approaches are welcome: chemical, physical, electrical, magnetic, optical, in situ, and real-time control and monitoring. The semiconductor industry is evolving rapidly: the conference will highlight major issues and provide critical reviews of important materials and structure characterization and nearline/inline metrology methods, including hardware, data analysis, and AI and machine learning, as the industry both extends the technology deep into the nanoscale and increases the diversity of devices and systems.
Sonde Locales 2024
Lyon, France
For the second time, we are proud to welcome you to Lyon from April 22 to 26, 2024 for the 25th edition of the local probe microscopy forum. Their region is strong in research teams and industrialists involved in near-field microscopy. Their organizing committee, distributed across several laboratories and establishments (National Institute of Applied Sciences, École Centrale, École Normale Supérieure, Claude Bernard University, Jean Monet University and the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission), is representative of the diversity of activities developed in Lyon and Grenoble in the field of near-field microscopy, nanosciences and nanotechnologies: from electrical and thermal measurements for the characterization of micro-nanoelectronics structures to mechanical measurements on polymers or biomaterials in passing through instrumental development and data processing.

On Surface Synthesis 2024
OSS2024
Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Spain
On-surface synthesis, a surface-supported variation of organic chemistry most commonly performed under vacuum, unites the easy tunability of molecular materials and the promises of self-assembly as a revolutionary production method, with the sturdiness of covalently bonded structures. This most attractive combination is drawing the interest of a rapidly increasing number of researchers. Important efforts are being devoted to augment the available on-surface synthesis toolbox, to improve our understanding of the chemical reaction mechanisms, to the synthesis and characterization of new molecular architectures, as well as to their implementation in diverse applications.
Because this approach bridges across the fields of chemistry, physics and materials science, further involving engineering for the integration of these molecular materials in actual devices, the aim of this fifth edition of the "On-Surface Synthesis" international workshop (following OSS14 in Les Houches, OSS16 in San Sebastian, as well as OSS18 and OSS22 in Sant Feliu de Guíxols) is to bring together researchers working in this field from different perspectives, theory and experiment, as well as with chemical, physical and/or application-oriented viewpoints.
84th Physical Electroniics Conference
University of North Dakota, North Dakota
The 84th Physical Electronics Conference, including the prestigious Nottingham Prize Competition for the best presentation based on doctoral research, will be hosted at the University of North Dakota.
July
NAMBE
Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts
he 38th North American Conference on Molecular Beam Epitaxy (NAMBE 2024) is a prominent international forum for reporting scientific and technological developments in Molecular Beam Epitaxy research.
The conference showcases important results from fundamental materials and device research, through technological applications, and into high-volume and low-cost production. NAMBE features the presentations of the Art Gossard MBE Innovator Award, the NAMBE Young Investigator Award, and the Best Student Paper awards.
In addition to a diverse technical program, vendors will exhibit the latest equipment available for material growth and characterization. The exhibit will surround the coffee breaks and poster presentations, providing many opportunities for discussions between attendees and vendors. There will also be a job board.
