Efficient UPS and ARPES measurements rely not only on the energy analyzer but also on the excitation source. The Scienta VUV5000 is a high intensity, narrow bandwidth extreme UV source. It provides radiation con-centrated to He I (21 eV and 23 eV) and He II (41eV). The flux density per unit wavelength interval is comparable to that obtainable from the best undulator beam lines. The photon flux emitted through a 2 mm aperture is about 500 times higher than that from conventional discharge VUV sources.

The excellent stability of the VUV5000 makes it ideal for measurements such as studies of ultrathin films and nanomaterials, requiring extremely high intensity and long measurement times. In addition, the 1 meV bandwidth allows high resolution gas phase and cluster measurements.

VUV5000 UV Source

The VUV5000 UV source is the most intense He-light source on the market. At the same time, it has the narrowest line width. The photon source is based on a He plasma, generated with the ECR (Electron Cyclotron Resonance) technique. VUV5000 is also easto handle. During routine use, it is operated by start and stop buttons, and no additional adjustment is required.

VUV5040/5047 UV Monochromator

The VUV5040/5047 is a compact UV monochromator optimized for high efficiency at both HeI and HeII. Complete separation of HeIα and HeIβ is achieved while maintaining a 1 meV bandwidth. The monochromator comes with a fixed of retractable exit stage.

VUV5040 Upgrade Options

Several options for upgrading existing UV soutce are avalebly. All components are retrofitable to older installations. This gives the opportunity to improve differential pumping, allow more space for sample manipulation by introducing a retractable exit capillary, or facilitate integration with interlock safety systems.

The VUV5000 is the most intense He-light source on the market. It also has the narrowest line width. The unique feature of the VUV5040 UV monochromator is that it can utilize the full output of the VUV5000 giving extremely high intensity at the sample even after monochromatization.

Retractable Package

The Retractable VUV5k-package is the combination of the VUV5000 UV-source and the VUV5047 UV-monochromator. These components form a unique light source. The VUV5000 is the most intense He-light source on the market. It also has the narrowest line width. The unique feature of the VUV5047 UV monochromator is that it can utilize the full output of the VUV5000 giving extremely high intensity at the sample even after monochromatization. The VUV5047 also features a 65 mm exit capillary retraction.
